Amanda, a kanaka maoli organizer, advocate, and technical assistance provider, joined Praxis as a Program Director in 2019. With a strong foundation in curriculum development and fourteen years of experience as as an advocate with university, county, and nation-wide sexual assault advocacy organizations, Amanda brings a deep commitment to creating inclusive advocacy services. They have led initiatives that center culturally-specific approaches to addressing and preventing violence, and have extensive expertise in training communities to understand and respond to the unique impacts of sexual violence on Two Spirit and LGBTQIA+ folks. Before joining Praxis, they worked with the Minnesota Indian Women’s Sexual Assault Coalition, supporting national projects that addressed sexual violence in tribal communities
